GROUNDING EXERCISES

Grounding Exercises

Are you feeling all over the place and flighty lately? You are not alone. So many of my students, clients, and friends including myself have been suffering from anxiety and feeling scattered. Learning to ground is one of the best things in my adult toolbox. I teach is to my kids and my kid students, my adult students, my adult kids and their friends. It’s all very important.
There are many different and fun ways we can incorporate grounding into our day. Grounding can be as simple or elaborate as we want it or need it to be. Some days are worse than others so we can go with a simple breath exercise, or we can forest bathe and go camping. Grounding can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, improve sleep and bring balance to the mind and body.
Here are a few grounding exercises I personally enjoy doing!
1> Go for a mindful walk. Take a slow walk around the yard, neighborhood, a park or town. Take notice of the sights, smells, sounds and feelings you experience. Silently walk and just observe. Be in the moment with your surroundings.
2>Play in the dirt!!! I personally can’t get enough of this one. I love to garden, even if it’s tending to my inside garden aka house plants. Weeding my flower beds and moving the soil is relaxing. The dirt is absorbing all my negatives and replacing it with fresh positives.
3>Take a bath or go for a swim. Add some salts or oils to a bath and just sink on in. Allow the water to swirl around you and warm and relax you. Let go of the tensions and toxins you are holding in and let it go down the drain.
4>Aroma therapy. Some scents can be very grounding. here is a list of aromas that are known for their grounding properties. Birch, Clary sage, Lavender, Myrrh, Patchouli and Sandalwood. You can burn candles, diffuse oils, heat dried herbs etc.
5>Grounding Stone Meditations. I teach this one to my kids class a lot. Hold a stone and focus on it. feel the texture and notice the colors. Is it smooth or rough? What shape is it? Is it cold to the touch? Where did is come from? Then we hold it in both hands and as we close our eyes and breathe, we put all our worries in the stone. Once we are done, we either burry the stone or cleanse the stones. Here are a few stones used for grounding. Amber, Tiger’s Eye, Bloodstone, Black Tourmaline, Citrine and Hematite. I also love river rocks when doing the meditation with younger kids so they can bury them or throw them in the water.
I hope some of these are useful to you. Please as always feel free to reach out to me with any suggestions or let me know if you try any of these!
Much Love
Sandi

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury Retrograde

We all laugh and make silly comments about Mercury Retrogrades, but I kind of love them. The Retrogrades are a perfect time for self-work and looking within. It’s a time of reflection and inner peace.
During retrograde you may notice we all tend to become short-tempered, have cloudy thinking, irritable and just all around cranky. Things all seem to give extra problems like computers, phones and cars. This retrograde is in Gemini, this means we may find neighbors a little annoying and community will not feel joined together.

So, what do you do during a retrograde? Well, this is what I do. I take naps. I laugh at my computer problems and just think ahhh fabulous retrograde. I read for pleasure. I study something new. Maybe go camping and hiking to just unplug.
Chakra Clearings are wonderful to get during a retrograde because they just help remove our internal sludge holding us down while we are already feeling down. I usually hold a Chakra Clearing Special just for Mercury Retrograde. Check out our Services page for more details.
Take some down time and just don’t take anything too seriously. It’s really not as bad as it seems.

Come January

Come January

January is coming and with that a New Year and many New Goals. Many people make resolutions during this time and what better time than now to get ready to make some positive moves in our lives.
Personally, last year was a huge year of change for me and it is ending just as big. What I know to be true is this, if you don’t make the moves to remove the negative things from your life the universe won’t stop until you do. I have made some wonderful new friends this year, helped some amazing people heal from all sorts of ailments, and rid my life of what no longer serves my healthy path and my goals.
Not everyone will be a supporter of your success, so you need to find the people that are and surround yourself with others that are successful in the areas you wish to attain enlightment on.
My new goals this year are to focus more on my client’s needs more deeply and maintain healthy boundaries and a healthier lifestyle for myself.
You know by now, I’m sure, that I am slightly obsessed with Vibrational Energy and Sound healing. It is weird for me to think that this journey started in such a strange way by first only teaching kids’ yoga classes.
I was already certified and well-practiced in energy healing, but fear held me back. Many people that did not understand energy work and had put me down and discouraged me from thinking anyone would even want to receive healing, so I stopped offering it.
Now I focus on what I truly love and focus on moving past the fear of being authentically me.
The New Year is starting with Sound Baths, which I never offered to the public this way before, and I am excited.
My love and understanding of how energy moves, manipulates and how to use it to help others heal themselves, is just getting stronger. These Sound Baths are going to be designed to help open and clear areas in the body and mind to help us be open to opportunities and help aid in our goal setting.
Starting January 8th, I will be offering Sound baths to those looking forward to removing the negative habits, mental blockages and those looking for their own positive community to help cheer them along the scary road towards growth and success.
We really do need each other to grow and nurture one another.
If you are interested in joining me, I have a few options for you. Check out my schedule and see if these options work for you. I offer both in-person and remote sessions, so there isn’t a problem if you are not local, you can still receive the healing and community.
Members of the Spiritual Warriors group will also dive deeper into their goal setting with the support and weekly guided lessons to help them along their journey.
Have a safe and Happy end of 2022 and I am so excited and ready for 2023!
Much Love,
Sandi
